George Earl Barker
George Earl Barker
4 July 1916 - 2 March, 2004Uncle george passed away this evening, the following is the message I received from Fred Faber
At 7:15 PM today George went to be with his Lord.
All his immediate family except Dwight were at his bedside as he passsed
away very peacefully.
He got up this morning and had a bacon and eggs breakfast and some grits I
believe. Then went out and fed the birds. He and Marg were getting ready to
go town. While Marg went out through the garage to the car, George went back
upstairs to his study and got his stock papers out. He always sat in the
mall and worked on what to buy or sell while Marg shopped. As he came back
down he took a stroke and fell.
Marg heard the commotion and came in to find
him laying there and called Jeanne, when she arrived they got him to sit up
as he wanted to then Jeanne dialed 911. He was unconscious when he arrived
at the hospital.
The stroke created a massive blood clot in the brain and
was hemorraging. The trauma proved to be too much for the old soldier and
the family asked for the removal of the life support system he died about 30
minutes later.
Aunt Mary and Lydia were there as well as he passed away .
At present we think the funeral will be Saturday at 1:00PM at King St.
Baptist in (Preston) Cambridge.
I am making this blog, hoping that members of our families will post items to it. Anyone can post an item here, so if you know of a Birth, Wedding, reunion, picnic, or anything else you would like other family members to read, post it here.
You can also upload pictures if you would like to.
